30th October 2009 - What are you gunna do about it?

As we continue our "now our lads need us more than ever.. what are you gunna do about it?" motto, the atmosphere has still to be improved on, particularly away from home. The main positive affect from the work so far is that we are picking up wins when playing damn awful. It has to be noted that the atmosphere has picked up towards the final stretches of the game when the team need us most, which in turn, has turned 2 looming defeats into 2 vital wins in the last week alone. Can we improve on this? Yes we can. Legion 1882 are not in this alone; every fan out there can boost the noise and lead the team to another victory. Tomorrow is another competition but the aim remains. So..

What are you gunna do about it?

24th October 2009 - 2-1

Brutal at times but we showed that fight back spirit awfully missed lately and grabbed the 3 points. The atmosphere was touch and go at times and really picked up towards the end but a lot of improvement is needed on both fronts; starting Tuesday night at Ballymena.

23rd October 2009 - Cliftonville

Nothing happening on and off the pitch at the moment! Another big match tomorrow in the shape of a very good Cliftonville side hurting after a semi final defeat in midweek; another big week in the stands for Legion 1882. The atmosphere has been below par lately and Legion 1882 recognises and aims to improve on this first and foremost before any display. This is also a chance for the fans to get involved - the team need us more than ever as confidence is at an all time low. It is probably the most used phrase regarding supporters but atmosphere really does work! It has been proven in the past, the back end of last season being a prime example.

Each game from now on is a cup final, one which could tip the scales either way in the delicate situation we find ourselves in. Blind faith in some of us will see the team come good, realism in others will reserve more scepticism towards a team playing awful awful stuff. Regardless of what you as a fan believe in, we all share something in common in that we want to see our team be successful. A rallying cry before each game seems to be the norm lately but it doesn't de-emphasise it at all. This may be our best chance for some time to retain the title. The squad has the undoubted talent, combined experience and youth but no confidence to 'make it happen'.

We want to win. Lets help the lads.

18th October 2009 - Video update

A 'fans eye' video from yesterdays display is now online in the video section.

18th October 2009 - Linfield 2-1 'Champions'

Legion 1882 had a quickly planned display with a dozen or more two sticks and 5 flares along with some flags which came off well. 2 photos have surfaced so far in the gallery. More videos and photos are sure to follow. Nothing else is worth mentioning.

10th October 2009 - 1-0 Champions

And we certainly played like it in the first half. Much better performance than in recent times.

Display wise, Legion 1882 had a dozen or so red and green flags along with several dozen two sticks of various design and colour. Photos should appear soon.

A couple of Legion 1882 members including myself are bound for international duty in Prague come Monday so there'll be no updates until the end of the week.

Next week is the big one ;)

9th October 2009 - Hopeful FC vs Inbreeds

The size of this game cannot be underestimated. Time to put in a performance worthy of being Champions, time to get behind the lads and collect 3 points. Time to scream the CHAMPIONS to victory.

No motivation should be needed for this one.

7th October 2009 - Hopeless FC 0-1 Crusaders

Less said about last night the better. We have a HUGE run of matches coming up that could make or break our season. More on Saturdays game at the end of the week.

5th October 2009 - Video update

A short video of Legion 1882's display v Linfield in the Shield last week has been added to the 2009/10 section of the video page.

1st October 2009 - Gallery update

A bigger and better quality photo from Tuesday nights display v Linfield has been added to the Gallery.
